A beautiful and functional smile can significantly improve both appearance and self-confidence, becoming a vital part of comprehensive dental care. Recent advances in orthodontic treatment have made it possible to address a wide range of dental problems with greater precision and efficiency, offering patients more effective and comfortable solutions than ever before.

This clinical case presents the interdisciplinary management of a patient with a dolichofacial pattern, skeletal class I, and maxillary biretrusion. The patient presented with retroclined upper and lower incisors, a reduced overbite, an anterior crossbite, and an enlarged overbite, along with the absence of teeth 12 and 23. Indeed, the patient was qualified for skeletal surgery, and comprehensive treatment using Carierre Motion Class III was performed, with extraction of tooth 32, aligners, and prosthetic rehabilitation with veneers.

This case details the correction of these problems through a combination of orthopedic, orthodontic, and prosthetic interventions.

Treatment Objectives

  • Correct anterior crossbite and improve overbite and overbite
  • Achieving optimal incisor inclination
  • Establishing occlusion
  • Improve dental aesthetics through prosthetic restorations
  • Achieving a balanced smile and facial harmony

Treatment Plan and Execution

Phase I: Orthopedic Correction

  • Orthopedic Correction with Carriere Motion Class III to protract the maxilla and correct crossbite.

The Motion Class III appliance is an orthodontic device used to correct Class III malocclusions by promoting maxillary projection and mandibular repositioning. It applies gentle forces to stimulate forward movement of the maxilla while guiding the mandible into a more favorable position.

Phase II: Orthodontic Treatment

  • Extraction of tooth 32 to improve the alignment of the lower incisors and eliminate crowding.
  • Hey Smile clear aligners were used to straighten teeth, correct tilt, and improve the occlusal relationship.

Clear aligners are removable orthodontic devices designed to correct misaligned teeth. Made of medical-grade plastic, they apply controlled pressure to move teeth into their desired positions. Unlike traditional braces, the aligners are nearly invisible and offer greater comfort and convenience.

Phase III: Prosthetic Rehabilitation

  • After completing orthodontic treatment, veneers were placed on the front teeth to optimize aesthetics.

Veneers provide an excellent solution for improving the appearance of teeth, addressing problems such as discoloration, shape irregularities, and misalignment.

After 18 months of active treatment, the patient achieved significant improvements. This case demonstrates the effectiveness of a combined orthopedic, orthodontic, and prosthetic approach in the management of complex dental discrepancies.
