Fundamentals of Surgery and Implantology

Online: 2 ECTS

Biological principles of osseointegration.
Bone classification and bone quality.
Types of implants and surfaces.
Indications and contraindications.
Phases of implant treatment.

Module 3

Techniques in Oral Surgery

Online + In-person: 2 ECTS

Surgical instruments in oral surgery.
Local anesthesia in oral surgery.
Principles of incision.
Flap design.
Soft tissue surgery.
Sutures and suturing techniques.
Implantology: milling and stability.
Pathology, surgical techniques and comprehensive management.

Module 4

Clinical Photography in Surgery and Implants

Online + In-person: 2 ECTS

Legal and clinical importance of photography.
Recommended photographic equipment.
Basic parameters.
Implantological photographic protocol.
Pre-, intra- and post-operative photography.
Image organization and storage.

Module 5

Implant-supported prostheses

Online: 1 ECTS

Basic concepts of implant-supported prosthesis.
Screw-retained prosthesis vs cemented prosthesis.
Implant connections.
Immediate charging vs. deferred charging.
Surgery-prosthesis relationship.
Temporary prosthesis in the aesthetic area.
Implant maintenance.

Module 6

Intensive Face-to-Face Training

In-person: 4 ECTS

Sunday — Intensive Day (8h)

Integrated theoretical review.
Practice of milling and inserting implants.
Flap and suture technique.
Photographic record of the practice.

Monday to Friday: Daily sessions (8h/day)

Case planning.
Soft tissue management.
Surgical complications.
Postoperative follow-up.
Preparation of the real clinical case.

Module 7

In-Person University Study Club

In-person: 3 ECTS

Mandatory presentation of at least 1 real clinical case.
Guided group discussion.
Prosthetic and photographic surgical analysis.
Case evaluation.

Postgraduate Program: Sinus Lift (5 cases)

+ General Objectives

To train the student in the diagnosis, planning and advanced execution of maxillary sinus lift techniques, mastering anatomy and guaranteeing criteria of safety, predictability and scientific and clinical evidence in implant rehabilitation in real patients.

Diagnosis and planning through clinical evaluation and CBCT.
Anatomical and biological knowledge of the maxillary sinus.
Mastery of sinus lift surgical techniques and implantology.
Selection and proper handling of biomaterials.
